Welcome Stanford University Students

Below are instruction on how to purchase your prescription inserts for your approved safety glasses.
 
Please take note as our instructions have changed:
 
Step 1: Visit the order page located at -> https://lensesrx.com/53751-stanford-chem-lab/
Step 2: Click 'Add To Cart' button to initiate the order process.
Step 3: Select Single Vision, followed by High Quality Lenses and the type of vision correction you need. Click next step.
Step 4: Enter your prescription exactly as it appears on your prescription
(If you receive any warnings of fees for overpower, please ignore them as they will not be added to your bill).
Step 5: In the additional notes, please enter your Course Number and Professor. Click next and review.
Step 6: Review your information and Add it to Cart.
Step 7: Follow the steps to enter your billing, shipping and account creation information.
(Inserts will be shipped to your school. Please leave your shipping address same as your billing address.
Step 8: When choosing the processing and shipping, please select low priority for $3.49.


Your order total should be $28.50, please make payment to finalize your order.
 
Your final product will be delivered to your chemistry department for pick up. If you do not receive your inserts, please contact your lab manager.

Chemistry Lab

  • Step 3: Select Single-vision or Bi-Focal, depending on what you need for vision correction. If you're not sure please contact customer support. If you selected Single Vision, goto step 3a if you selected Bi-focal goto step 3b.
  • Step 3a: Now select what the vision correction is for, distance, computer or reading.
  • Step 3b: Now select how you typically wear your eyeglasses, higher up on the nose, all the way up towards the eyes or low on the nose.
  • Step 4: After clicking next you will see a screen asking for your prescription, please enter it EXACTLY as you see it on your personal prescription. Do not change the + and - signs, do not omit any information.
    If the form instructs you that there is an additional charge for high range sphere or cylinder, your approved safety glasses will not support your prescription. You need to stop here and ask for assistance from the program director. Some alternatives are using contact lenses with your safety glasses.
  • Step 5: After entering your prescription you will be asked for your PD Value. The pupil distance is easily measured, have someone use a MM ruler (or CM ruler and then convert to MM) and place it on your forehead, then while you focus on the center of their face, usually the nose, have them measure the distance between the center of one pupil to the center of another pupil. Typical adult measurements should be in the 55m to 75mm range.
  • Step 6: In the additional comments section on this same page, you MUST put your class number (eg: Class 31A) and any additional notes you may want to provide to the optician. DO NOT FORGET TO WRITE IN YOUR CLASS NUMBER. Failure to do so will result in delays in distribution. Click Next Step to proceed.
  • Step 7: Make sure Standard (1.49) lenses are selected. If Polycarbonate (1.59) lenses have been selected for you, please click the Standard, it will be the lens that says No Charge. Do not select any coatings, as the approved safety glasses you have been issued already have most of these protective coatings. Click Next Step to proceed
  • Step 8: This order for our retail customers qualifies for warrenties, this does not apply to Stanford students as you are covered by a different warranty. Please un-select the warranty and it's additional charge. Click next step to proceed.
  • Step 9: Please review your order on this last ordering step. Double check your prescription and all other values. Also, make sure you can see your class in the Comments section. Click Add to Cart to proceed.
  • Step 10: You will notice the item will be added to the shopping cart on the right side of the screen. Below that you will see a green checkout button, click that to proceed.
  • Step 11: Please once again review your information here and check that everything is accurate. If you selected single-vision please goto step 11a if you selected bi-focal goto step 11b.
  • Step 11a: On the bottom of this page you will see a section for discount code. Please enter the following code for single-vision 'STANFORDS'. Your total should now be $18.00. Click next on the bottom of the page to proceed.
  • Step 11b: On the bottom of this page you will see a section for discount code. Please enter the following code for bi-focal 'STANFORDB'. Your total should now be $38.50. Click next on the bottom of the page to proceed.
  • Step 12: Register for a new account by the following the necessary steps. When asked for billing address, please enter the address your bank has on file for your credit card. Failure to do so may result in delays for processing. You do not need to enter a delivery address as this item will be delivered to your school's correct department, so use the same address for billing and shipping.
  • Step 13: When you are on the priority page, please select "Low Priority" for an additional charge of $2.25. You may ignore the writtings on this page, as it is simply used to make the total of your order equal the agreed upon price between LensesRx Online Optical and Stanford University.
  • Step 14: Select your method of payment, Credit Card and PayPal are preferred. Check or money order is accepted but we will not begin work on your order until payment is cleared. You may miss your class deadline. Please also double check your final price for the lenses. Single Vision should be $20.25 and Bi-Focal should be $40.75.
